UH-1 spraying helicopter low pass and landing in California N60901
🇺🇸 A good old Huey low pass can easily replace the need for coffee in the morning! ☕ Many thanks to our dear pilot friend who let us record him working throughout the day, spraying the endless fields of California and giving us memories for a lifetime. Wherever we go, spraying pilots are always super cool with us and match our enthusiasm, which instantly makes our day unforgettable! 🚁

It was used for various purposes, conducting general support, air assault, cargo transport, aeromedical evacuation, search and rescue, electronic warfare, and ground attack missions. Nowadays the Huey and its variants are still widely used in agriculture as a spraying helicopter and also for heavy lifting/firefighting in the United States and some other parts of the world. In excess of 16,000 Huey helicopters have been built since 1960.

I'm glad you liked it, I agree it's one of the best sights to see, especially early in the morning when all is calm! Thanks for watching!
3 of them just flew past my house!
Oh wow, if you are in the UK I can safely say the weather is just awesome now so they are probably having a great time flying!

Amazing capture my friend! Love these retro looking MDs!
Glad you liked it, agree, MDs are one of the best!
I love the design of the md 530. It’s a great utility helicopter for this kind of work.
Me too, one of my all time favourites! Always a joy to see / hear them flying.
Amazing
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching!
Why is the helo logo painted on it in the shape of a Dauphin helicopter?
Good question, they used to operate with an A109 however I agree the logo rather resembles a Dauphin.
You know how much I Love these MD530 Helicopters, I'm so glad you caught this one in action 👍😎
Thanks a lot Ed, I know you are a massive MD fan as well! Hope you'll catch some too!
Stunning capture my friend! Love the sound of the H135!

It was an Indian pilot who did complete development flying on GNAT, then Sqn Ldr S Das of IAF, son of former Chief Justice of India, a friend of mine
How interesting, thanks for watching and for sharing that!
Was in Gaydon hanger Valley for 7 years 68/75 the “hive “ of the Gnat. Absolute pigs to work on , but still have fond memories of them. WW 2 technology,
I'm glad you have nice memories on these birds. Nothing like a good reminiscence! Thanks for watching and for sharing it!
An absolutely glorious sound to hear when on a big job
I agree!
Superb shot my friend! Love these oldies, not common to see these! Greetings from another plane and heli spotter, just subscribed! Keep up the good work 👍😎
Thanks a lot for your comment, I'm really glad you liked the video and welcome to my channel! The MD500 is one of my all time favourites, a sentimental part of aviation for me as I've got lots of great childhood memories with them so I'm really happy if you liked it! Just subscribed to you too!
The American Sea King arguably the most beautiful helicopter ever produced. 🇺🇸
Agree, always a spectacular sight to see!
AUTO ROTATION? Where????
If you click on the long video you will see it. The short only includes the landing, which is what the title of the short says. The longer video contains the actual autorotation training.

Btw, it wasn't a low-pass, it was a go-around.
Thank you, corrected the title. 😊
The Gnat is probably one of my favourite aircraft (apart from the Nynja I'm building and my 912 Quantum 😁) as I spent time working on them at Halton during my apprenticeship. For our passout stunt we planned to put a Gnat in Trafalgar Square in London as we were working on them in our final phase of training. The wing is one piece held on by essentially 4 bolts so we had one prepared ready to go. We had a furniture pantechnicon on standby, keys to the hangar cut and the route planned. We were going to lift the wing off the fuselage, roll the fuselage into the van and place the wing beside it, then off to London. However the Wing Commander i/c training (Taff Holden of Lightning fame😁) caught wind of the stunt and threatened us that if anything happened none of us would leave Halton, so unfortunately we didn't carry out our plan and the Gnat stayed in the hanger. We did go down in history though as the entry who put the Whirlwind helicopter on the Groves-Henderson parade square to mark our first anniversary of arriving at Halton. The date was 1st April 1976 😁
What an amazing story, thank you so much for sharing it with us!
Just no! As I said, you didn’t get the idea
I'm not sure what you mean?
👋🌹
Thanks for watching!
Very nice shot. How often does a rescue helicopter land there?👍
Thank you! As far as I know from tracking the location on radar pretty often, however this helicopter is actually based there.
Great looking AW169 👍😎
Thanks for watching Ed, absolutely agree!
Retro looking livery on this classic JetRanger - Great Catch 👍😎
Thank you Ed, it was indeed a lovely catch to see it flying as I arrived to the airport!
These are fun but parts are a bitch to get ahold of
True, unfortunately this is one of the reasons why they are getting more and more rare, even in Hungary where once they were the dominating type.
Some really great footage there! 👍
Thanks a lot for your kind words, I'm really glad you liked it! Stay tuned for more, I still need to upload the daylight spraying which I'm hoping to do soon! 😊
Yes, you did a fine job of setting yourself up to put the Huey between you and the rising sun and as a result we get to clearly see the swath being laid down as well as those long flowing vortices. 👌 California to Elstree (your most recent video) that's quite a leap! Looking forward to seeing the other spraying video. 👍
@@Visonista Thank you mate, the super early wake up call was definitely worth it that day! Thanks for noticing! I try record all around the world and upload them mixed hence the giant geographical leap! 😊
What a spectacular video, I really love the Bell 429 and this livery looks really good and you caught it starting up, takeoff and land, what more could you ask for except for a Flight in one 👍😎
Thank you so much Ed, glad you liked the video! Indeed an onboard recording would be awesome, hopefully soon!
Awesome Mate
Thank you very much buddy!
🙂👍
Thanks for watching!
And we are using our cars too much, and should use public transport.
Fantastic post, fantastic aeroplane
Thanks for watching! 😊
A LITTLE HEAVY
I don't think they were particularly heavy as they were going to do longline work.
6 BLADE'S WHOOOO.!
Exciting indeed my friend! 🤩 It was an amazing experience to see so close!
Beautiful 429! Nice that it is operational on one engine per the description. 👍
Thank you for watching, and certainly for reading the description too! 😄 Agree, I think in the EU it is a requirement for HEMS helicopters to be able to operate on one engine.
cool
Thanks for watching!
Growing up my dad had Three Bell Jet Rangers and one of them was a long ranger. I wish I could go back in those days I was lucky and blessed. I miss and love him very much !
That's such a nice story, thank you for sharing with us, I'm sure he is proud of you and looks after you! I'm glad if the video brought back some good memories.
Where was this?
Redhill Aerodrome, south of Gatwick Airport, where Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance is based with their helicopters.
@@LIONAV whats spotting like there?
Unfortunately it is getting worse, although there is still great visibility of the air ambulance base. For the police and private stands not so much.
That’s me. Nice video!
Thank you for your comment Alexander and glad you liked the video! Well done for the smooth landing too! I am planning to go back to Tampa to your base soon again as I really loved the stunning approach above the water and in between buildings, quite a unique approach / helipad in my opinion. Must be challenging though at times of high winds I assume? I was checking you on radar days before I visited and saw that the helipad was quite busy.
You probably know my dad Rob Freas
I’ve got more videos of auto med taking off and landing on my channel
Wow excellent catch and very nice video.
Thanks a lot Jerome, great place to spot!
Really cool 👍🏻
